My background

Disciplined and driven with purpose.

Let’s get a little personal. I’m originally from South Africa. I moved across the world and grew up in the UK, where I went to art school—but training my mind and body never stopped being part of who I was.

During my master’s degree, I facilitated workshops with people outside the arts, creating space for their voices within political conversations. That was where my experience of listening, guiding and helping people find confidence really began to flourish.

During COVID, I qualified as a personal trainer and turned that instinct into a career in health and fitness. Since then, I’ve spent more than four years coaching people face-to-face, from complete beginners to experienced lifters, helping them become stronger, more capable and more confident in themselves.

My own training has taken me through strength work, running, trail events and HYROX. It has taught me that progress is rarely linear, and that doing more is not always the same as moving forward.

That belief became ARO Strength: coaching built on strong foundations, considered decisions and progress that can be measured over time.

How I coach

Clear. Considered. Personal.

Your programme should reflect your experience, goals, recovery, schedule and the life you actually live—not an ideal week that only works on paper.

The ARO Progression Model

Progress without the guesswork.

A clear three-step coaching cycle guides when we progress, when we hold steady and when we change direction—so every training block has a reason.

  1. 01

    Build

    Establish your foundation

We assess your movement, training history, current strength, schedule and goals, then set the right exercises, starting loads and weekly structure.

  2. 02

    Battle

    Progress—and consolidate

Reps, load or training volume increase when your technique, performance and recovery support it. When your body needs time to adapt, we hold the plan steady instead of changing it at random.

  3. 03

    Become

    Review, refine and redirect

At the end of each block, we review your lifts, consistency, recovery and results, then adjust your exercises, volume and priorities for what comes next.
